The shops are housed in buildings which once supported the 1,067 acre estate of the R.J. Reynolds family. It's a great place for walking, dining, and shopping. Grab a doughnut and coffee at Dough-Joe's, enjoy lunch at Village Tavern or Theodores, or go shopping at one of the many great boutiques! The Reynolda House Museum of American Art, originally built in 1917 as the home of Katharine and R.J. Reynolds, is a historic 64-room estate and a key example of the American Country House movement. Now a museum, it features over 6,000 historic objects and a renowned American art collection spanning 250 years, with works by artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, and John Singer Sargent. Artworks are displayed throughout the house and in the Babcock Gallery, with rotating exhibitions and updated listings available online.
