On September 20, 2010, two incoming freshmen attended their Ohio State Convocation, ready to start their college careers! Convocation began, and as fate would have it, Wynton and Anaya happened to end up sitting next to each other amongst thousands of their freshmen classmates. Wynton decides to turn to his left to introduce himself, and unbeknownst to them, the rest was history! After taking their first picture together, a traditional "O-H-I-O" (with two other friends as the "H" and the "I"), their college careers began, as well as a friendship that grew to something more beautiful than they ever expected. Anaya and Wynton's relationship began as friends. They shared a major, so they usually had classes together throughout their time in undergrad. Shared experiences through both mutual friends and in the academic space kept them close. During their Junior year, Anaya and Wynton grew closer as friends since they shared an 8AM class and would often grab breakfast together afterwards before and returning to campus. Intimate, yet platonic, conversations and laughs shared during these moments, strengthened their friendship and guided them towards becoming best friends. Since their sophomore years at Ohio State, the two can count on one hand the amount of days they went without speaking to each other. That's how close of friends Wynton and Anaya became. Their mutual friends would even tease and point out that the two of them were "different" with each other - and the truth is that they were! While the platonic boundaries of their friendship were maintained, Wynton began to develop deeper feelings for Anaya. Though it was not yet God's timing for a romantic relationship, the two remained the best of friends through the remainder of undergrad and after. After a couple years of not seeing each other as students everyday, and separate relationships passing, in 2017 the opportunity for a romantic relationship finally presented itself. Anaya moved to Atlanta to attend Emory for Business School, while Wynton was living in Atlanta working and preparing for his graduate school endeavors. For the two already best friends, the transition to a romantic relationship was seamless. In September of that year they became official, with Wynton popping the "girlfriend" question at one of their favorite restaurants to frequent, Maggiano's.

The Proposal took place on October 22, 2023 in New York City. Wynton's plan for the proposal was to rent out a rooftop loft in Chelsea. Everything was thought out from the time of arrival, decorations, and the organized photoshoot to take place afterwards. He knew that if anything, Anaya would appreciate a well-ran operation from start to finish, because that's how she would do it. The trick was to come up with a ploy to get her dressed up without tipping her off; so Wynton told Anaya a week prior that his job planned to have a huge celebration after a successful campaign launch (the campaign launch was true!). Anaya was very excited to finally get the chance to attend a cool party with Wynton's job - so the fib worked perfectly! The special day came and we got dressed up to "head off to the party." We get to the undisclosed building where the loft was and ride up the elevator to the top floor. An attendant offers to take our coats, and Anaya walks ahead and opens the door to a beautiful proposal set up! Wynton then popped the question as pictures were taken, and we celebrated with a champagne toast and dinner afterwards! Check out the gallery for pictures!
