Anastasia: We met online (as many do), and the conversation was about three lines long before he asked if I was ready for a river walk with the pups. I drove over to the riverside and walked down the bike path with Duckie, and he surprised me from behind. I turned around and thought, *Aviators and a tight polo... he's the kind of handsome I'm not going to end up with.* The walk ended up lasting around 7 miles. I found out later that his knees give him terrible pain if he walks too far, and we were in a rocky riverbed for about half of those seven miles! I asked him, "Was it worth it?" He replied, "Well, I got you, didn't I?" Tommy: I wish I could say something different, but she covered it really well. The knee pains from all our long walks are still totally worth it.

Anastasia: He had just flown down to see me in San Antonio, where I had had an unexpected medical emergency. We'd been talking about marriage for a bit, but he completely surprised me when he took me in his arms, kissed me and asked me to marry him. I was completely incredulous, and of course I said yes. Tommy: It was a bad weekend. I heard the bad news before I bought the ticket. We had talked about getting married before, but I knew there had to be some bright spot in this horrible weekend. So without a ring I asked her to marry me.

I took Anastasia to her first Renaissance faire this year and we had a blast! We finally thought to take pictures on day two and that was one of our random snaps.

I picked her up from LAX at like 6am so we went to the beach for a morning walk before breakfast on the beach!
