Like many modern love stories, ours began online — on Plenty of Fish, to be exact. Neither of us expected much from it at the time. We were simply two people looking for companionship, unaware that something so meaningful was about to begin. After weeks of messaging (and Marquis patiently waiting through my terrible response times), he finally decided to ask for my number. That same day, we had our very first phone conversation, and almost instantly, it felt easy — like talking to someone we had already known for years. Before the conversation even ended, he asked a simple question: “What about tonight?” A few hours later, we found ourselves on our very first date at Local Pour in the Woodlands, sitting outside along the waterway, talking and laughing the night away. What was supposed to be a casual first meeting quickly became the start of something undeniable. From that night on, we became inseparable. Of course, every love story has its chapters of uncertainty. When Marquis took a job in Austin I was ready to call it quits, thinking we wouldn’t make it being apart. But what continued to grow between us was a love built on consistency, friendship, patience. When Marquis moved back to Houston, our story truly began to unfold the way it was always meant to. And in February 2024, he asked me to spend forever with him. Without hesitation, I said yes — and now we cannot wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you!
