In 2013, Paul and I met at the University of Central Florida through a business fraternity. He graduated in 2013 and I, in 2015. In May of 2015, he returned to visit friends. I planned a breakfast outing to catch up with him at Waffle House. Others were invited, but bailed last minute. They obviously knew something that we didn't. It was just Paul and I enjoying our waffles. When Paul had to return to Michigan, we kept in touch. We talked everyday from then on. The rest is history.
Hello world, Paul here just to give a recap of the proposal. So I thought that it would be obvious that I was proposing to Anasa. Every year, we go down to my grandmother’s, Poochie, and enjoy Thanksgiving with my side of the family. However, Anasa had made it known to me in a past conversation that we had that she wanted her family to be there when she was proposed to. I called Anasa’s mom to let her know that I planned to propose to her daughter and I thought it would be great if her and Anasa's older siblings would come down to Miami to be there. Seems obvious, right? Not to her. She was oblivious. Well, in order to keep it a surprise, I had my cousins help me out with the plan (shoutout to Sydnee and Camryn). If you know Anasa, you know she loves to take pictures so I had my cousins set up a photo shoot, which would throw her off the trail. Everyone arrives at my grandmother’s house and after Anasa and my cousins were done with their photo shoot they both came inside and we all posed for a group photo. We took a couple pictures, but for the last one (the silly photo), I got down on one knee and asked Anasa the famous words, “Will you marry me?” Of course, she said "YES!" It took her awhile because she thought it was a joke. Yes, we have it on video. It was such a great moment to have the whole family together for the celebration. The rest is history.
