FAQs

Question

✈️ Travel

Answer

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to Mexico? Yes, a valid passport is required for all international guests. Most U.S. citizens do not need a visa for short stays. What airport should I fly into? Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City. It's a 30-45 minute drive to the hotel depending on traffic. See the Accomodations tabs for info on getting to the hotel.

Question

🌤️ Weather

Answer

Mexico City in early April is mild and very comfortable. Days are usually warm and sunny, with average highs around 75–82°F (24–28°C). Evenings and mornings are cooler, typically around 50–57°F (10–14°C).

Question

🚕 Getting Around

Answer

Is Uber available in Mexico City? Yes — Uber is widely used, safe, and very convenient throughout Mexico City. Should I rent a car? No — we don’t recommend renting a car. Traffic can be heavy, parking is limited, and rideshare apps are much easier. What’s the best way to get around the city? Uber is the easiest option for most trips, including dropoff at the airport. Many neighborhoods like Polanco, Roma, and Condesa are also very walkable, so you may not need transportation for short distances.

Question

💵 Money

Answer

Should I bring cash or use credit cards? Credit cards are widely accepted in Mexico City, especially in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. It’s still a good idea to carry some cash for small purchases, markets, and tips. Should I exchange money before arriving? Not necessary. ATMs in Mexico City are easy to find and usually offer better exchange rates than airports or exchange counters. The hotel has on-site ATM to tap Mac.

Question

👗🤵 Dress Code

Answer

For the wedding, please wear cocktail attire—suits and dresses encouraged. Welcome drinks and sightseeing are casual and comfortable.

Question

⛰️ Altitude

Answer

Mexico City sits at about 7,300 feet (Denver is 5,280 ft), so you may feel the altitude when you first arrive. It’s normal to feel a bit more tired or winded for a day or two, and alcohol may feel stronger. We recommend taking it easy, staying hydrated, and giving your body a little time to adjust.
