Our Engagement Story

December 9th, 2019

Nate: “So after only getting a few hours of sleep and sleeping through my alarm (oops), I finally got us on the road to San Francisco where we were meeting up with my sister who was going to take some photographs for us. As I’m driving into the city (Ana was sleeping of course) I noticed the fog which was going to ruin the view. We finally made it to the base of Twin Peaks. Once we got to the top of Twin Peaks we were encompassed by a thick wall of fog that was possibly the thickest fog I had seen. Right when I’m about to ask Ana to marry me, she turns, looks me in the eye and says “are you going to shove me off the cliff?” and then started rambling. Finally, I had to tell her to shut up and I was finally able to ask her to marry me” Ana: “Nate wanted us to spend a day together in one of our favorite cities, San Francisco. He offered to plan the day and mentioned hiking Twin Peaks. His sister, Natalie, was going to join us for the hiking portion of our day. I knew the hike was a small one, so I dressed well because Nate made lunch reservations for us. We left early with the intent of watching the sunrise. I slept the entire drive to Twin Peaks and as we arrived, the fog was so thick that we could barely see anything. Natalie joined us at the base, and we started walking to the top. Once we reached the top, we were unable to see anything around us or below. Natalie and I began to walk around, climb some rocks, and act like Simba/Rafiki at the top of Pride Rock. It was a chilly day, so after looking around, I decided it was time to walk back down the steps. At this point, Nate was tugging on my vest and urging me to wait. As I turned around, I noticed his face was extra serious. I jokingly said, “are you going to shove me off the cliff?”. At this point, I could see Nate was becoming nervous about something. He began his speech with, “We have been together for a while now…” (7.5 years). Next thing I know, he gets down on one knee and asks me to be with him forever.”
