Anam and Marisa first met in high school back in 2010, making this Anam’s longest friendship. After discovering they lived just minutes apart, they quickly became inseparable. Over the years, they’ve shared countless memories—some that still make them laugh (and occasionally cringe). What began as a high school friendship has grown into a lifelong sisterhood, built on love, loyalty, and a whole lot of inside jokes. Along with Erin and John, the four of them worked together at Burlington Coat Factory in 2013, forming a tight-knit group that has remained close ever since. Marisa and Erin hold a special place in both the bride and groom’s hearts and are truly considered part of both sides of this celebration.

Towards the end of high school, Anam and Erin connected through Marisa, forming an iconic trio of best friends. Erin was known to pop by Anam’s house to see what was cooking—literally—sparking a sisterly bond rooted in care, laughter, and countless shared meals. Their friendship has only grown stronger, built on a foundation of showing up for each other in every way. Along with Marisa and John, the four of them worked together at Burlington Coat Factory, forming a tight-knit group that has remained close ever since. Marisa and Erin hold a special place in both the bride and groom’s hearts and are truly considered part of both sides of this celebration.

Ernie is John’s older—and only—brother. Like most siblings, their early years were filled with playful battles over sports, toys, and video games. But beneath the rivalry was always a strong bond. As the older brother, Ernie naturally took on the role of protector, always looking out for John and making sure he was cared for, supported, and never alone.

Aisha may technically be Anam’s aunt, but to Anam, she’s always been more like a sister. Throughout every phase of life, Aisha has been there, offering unwavering love and support every step of the way. The two grew up having sleepovers, dreaming about what their future weddings would look like—and now, they get to be a part of each other’s big day.

Fazil and Anam started out as childhood enemies, but everything changed when they discovered their mutual love for Paramore and Taco Bell. Though technically Anam’s uncle, Fazil is more like a best friend. The two are known to laugh for hours and make late night 7-11 runs for Hot Cheetos.

Anam and Ellie first crossed paths in 2018 during orientation for their Master’s program. They quickly bonded and have been inseparable ever since, lovingly known to each other as SpongeBob and Patrick. Whether offering a shoulder to lean on or sharing endless laughter, Ellie has always been there for Anam.

Marina and Anam met in a sociology class at Portland State University, where a simple group project sparked an incredible, lasting friendship. Since then, they’ve shared the journey through undergrad, grad school, and even living together—building a bond that’s truly deep and meaningful.

They like to joke that they trauma bonded during the program, but in reality they helped get each other through some of the toughest years and continue to show up for each other. Soon-to-be doctors of psychology—and best friends forever.
