Tyler and I met on the very first day of college in Elmwood Hall at Monmouth University. My roommate Nicole and I invited a friend from high school over to check out our dorm and when he arrived, Tyler was with him. We hit it off instantly and the rest is history. Just like that, in the same place my parents met and fell in love, so did Tyler and I.
During the last day of Finnerty Family vacation in LBI, Tyler wanted to end the day by going to Holgate Avenue to complete our trip from the North end to the South end of the island. When we arrived, it was raining and lightning out east over the Ocean, but towards the West, there was a sliver of sunset coming through. Tyler convinced me to go out into the rain to get a better view. As we stood out there and looked at a pink and orange sunset over the bay, we agreed that though it was raining, it was a perfect night. Tyler pulled me into his arms and said "there’s only one thing left that could make this night even more perfect." He got down on his knee and said "if you would marry me."
