🌎 What do I need to cross the border?

Answer

Please bring: A valid passport Any required travel documents Crossing into Mexico is typically quick. Returning to the U.S. can take longer β€” especially on Sunday afternoons and evenings β€” so please plan accordingly.

Answer

Yes, driving a car is one of the easiest ways to get around. Valle de Guadalupe is spread out and not walkable. Important: Be sure to purchase Mexican auto insurance, as U.S. policies are generally not valid in Mexico. Other transportation options include: Hiring a private driver Booking a wine tour service Uber and rideshare services are limited and not always reliable in the valley.

Answer

Yes. If driving from the border toward Ensenada/Valle de Guadalupe, you will likely take toll roads (cuotas), especially along the scenic coastal highway. What to expect: Approximately 3–4 toll booths Around $2–$5 USD per toll booth Bring cash (Mexican pesos preferred, though USD is often accepted) Small bills make payment quicker and easier Toll roads are well maintained and the safest, fastest route.

✈️ What airport should I fly into?

Answer

You have two great options: San Diego International Airport (SAN) Most guests will fly into San Diego. From there, Valle de Guadalupe is approximately 2–2.5 hours by car, depending on border traffic. Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) The closest airport to Valle (about 1–1.5 hours by car). If flying into San Diego, you can also use the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) pedestrian bridge to walk directly into the Tijuana airport terminal. We recommend arriving a day or two early to relax and enjoy the area!

Answer

There are wonderful options for every style and budget: Boutique vineyard hotels (View Hotels page on wedding website) Luxury glamping and eco-retreats Private villas and Airbnbs Hotels in nearby Ensenada (about 30–45 minutes away) September is a popular season in the valley, so we recommend booking accommodations early.
