TRIPS IF STAYING FOR EXTRA DAYS

LAKE ATLITAN (a must!!) Also knowns as "The Lake Como" of Central America. Make sure you stop by the small lake towns (Panajachel- main town, San Marcos- Hippie yoga town, a place to get away, get massages, and embrace the natural lifestyle, San Juan- Lots of handicrafts and beautiful streets to roam, Santa Cruz- favorite town to stay in for an extended stay) JUNGLE & PYRAMIDS Peten/Flores - A 45 min flight from Guatemala City, you are suddenly in the tropics! While in Flores, you have to go visit Tikal, the Mayan pyramid site. Also highly recommend the sunset tour at Yaxha. Favorite place to stay is Bolontiku, a boutique hotel with pool, kayaks, and private bungalows. BEACH El Paradon- Up and coming surf town with black sand beaches. We love the hotel Swell, book a room in a swim-up suite so that the pool is at your doorstep GUATEMALA CITY Zone 10- International touristy part of the city Zone 4- The neighborhood of 4 Grados Norte is trendy/hipster area Zone 1- Historic downtown
