We met at JBLM a few months after Tommy had been stationed in WA . We talked for a few months before actually meeting up, and when we finally did, it just clicked. He showed me pictures of his entire family that first "date" at the warrior zone, while i awkwardly giggled and talked about work like a crazy office lady. He asked to see me again the next day, and the next day, and the next day... That’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This is something i don't want to end. This is MY fish in the sea.”
We spent Christmas of 2018 with his family for the first time since we met / in Tommy's military career. I made him promise at some point in our relationship to never propose on a holiday, because those are for family and i didn't want to make it about me. So Tommy of course picked the day AFTER Christmas to do this...& said he wanted to take me to dinner on our last night in Oxnard. We had dinner over the bay and next to some boat docs. He took me on a long walk (it felt very long as i was wearing heels) and he set his phone up for a video so we could still capture pictures from there. He starts to ramble, and stutter, and next thing i know he is down on one knee. I cry-laughed and said "YES!". We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Washington!
