How we met

On May 25, 2023, Kaden and I met while on the Coast Guard swim team. At first we didn’t talk much, but when I finally got his number we texted and called every free moment. We began seeing each other outside the realm of swim team and grew closer throughout the summer. On December 12, 2023, Kaden mustered up the courage to ask my dad if we could finally become official, since then we have never left each others sides (besides him being thousands of miles away). A couple weeks later, we got the news that they would be stationed in Kodiak Alaska. We spent the next few months spending as much time together as we could and it felt as though the day would never come. Sadly, in May of 2024 they set off to start a new life in Alaska. Throughout the last two years we have learned that long distance is possible, no matter how hard it may be. It is true when they say distance makes the heart grow fonder because I never knew it was possible to miss someone so much. In February of this year, my dad gave Kaden permission to pop the question. On Easter we took a beautiful walk to boyscout beach where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I never thought in a million years that my 15th birthday wish would actually come true and I’d be marrying my best friend, but I’m so grateful it did.
