It’s amazing how much you can learn about a person over a cup of coffee. That’s where our story began—in a small café in Charleston, West Virginia. Surrounded by the smell of fresh coffee, stacks of books, and the buzz of conversation, what started as a simple meeting turned into hours of talking about our dreams, our families, our differences, and all the things we unexpectedly had in common. At the time, Ana had recently left Guatemala and moved to West Virginia to reconnect with her father’s roots while beginning her first job in journalism at ABC Channel 8. William was studying Computer Science at West Virginia State University, focused on building a future of his own. A few months later, Ana’s career led her to Texas. It was a pivotal moment in our relationship—one that could have easily taken us in different directions. Instead, William took a leap of faith and followed her to San Antonio. That decision brought us closer than ever and became the beginning of countless adventures together. Along the way, we became proud dog parents to Cobie, our lovable Labrador, and Marvin, our tiny Chihuahua, who Ana affectionately refers to as “the love of her life.” (William has graciously accepted his place in the ranking.) Over the years, we’ve built a life filled with cross-country moves, late-night conversations, new cities, career milestones, and unwavering support for one another through every challenge and celebration. From West Virginia to Texas, Atlanta, and beyond, each chapter has strengthened the foundation we started building over that very first cup of coffee. Now, we’re excited to begin our greatest adventure yet—becoming husband and wife. We can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with the people we love most and create even more memories in the years ahead. Thank you for being part of our story.
