Transport options & recommended hotels:

Flight

Aeropuerto de Madrid Barajas

The closest airport to Toledo is Madrid’s international airport. To get to Toledo, you can take a train from Atocha station, a taxi or ride-sharing service, or rent a car. The journey takes about 1 hour by car or around 35min by train. On the wedding day, we will be offering a shuttle service between Madrid and Toledo. If you’d like to use this service, please remember to RSVP.

Train

Renfe

There's a 35 min train between Madrid and Toledo. The train is around 20€, and runs every hour.

Rental Car

Car Rental

Madrid airport has many car rental options, and is about 1h from Toledo city. Toledo is a small medieval city and parking in the old town isn't always easy. However if you're planning to extend your trip for our wedding into a longer holiday or road trip, this would be a good option.

Staying in Madrid

Since Madrid is such a big city, there are endless options for accommodations, including hotels and Airbnbs for every taste and budget. If you’re considering staying in Madrid instead of Toledo, we recommend choosing an area that suits your vibe: • Salamanca – A central and well-organized area, perfect for a relaxed stay with great restaurants and shopping. A bit more elegant vibes compared to the other options. • Chamberí – A charming, residential neighborhood with a local feel and great tapas spots. It’s less touristy, so still amazing for people looking for a relaxed and quieter stay. • Chueca – Lively and vibrant, known for its nightlife and energy. It’s always buzzing, which is great if you love the action but might not be ideal if you prefer a calm stay. • Centro – The heart of Madrid, close to major attractions, historic sites, and classic tapas bars. It’s super convenient but also the busiest and noisiest area.
