We met in February 2021 at Back Bay Social during a Meetup.com event. A bunch of singles had gathered to make new friends and connections during those weird pandemic days, and we hit it off right away as friends. Before long, we were part of a little dinner party crew that got together regularly to eat, laugh, and just enjoy being around people again. A few months in, we realized there might be something more between us. We decided to test the waters over sushi, our first official date. The conversation flowed, the connection deepened, and, as they say, the rest is history.

In April 2024, we went to San Juan to celebrate Ana’s birthday and instantly fell in love with the city. The culture, the food, the energy, everything. During one of our tours, we even stumbled upon a couple getting married, which made the trip feel extra magical. What Ana didn’t know was that Dave already had plans in motion. On the morning of her birthday, he planned a full day of surprises that ended with a private lagoon excursion. A guide towed us out to the middle of the lagoon on a small paddle boat, then drifted away, leaving us alone on a floating barge covered in rose petals and a picnic basket waiting for us. In the middle of that peaceful lagoon, surrounded by the sounds of nature, Dave got down on one knee and proposed. It was the easiest “yes” ever.
