Question

What is a communal gift?

Answer

A communal gift is an experience or contribution that can be shared and enjoyed by everyone during our wedding celebration. Inspired by the gift culture of Burning Man, where gifts are given freely without expecting anything in return, these contributions are about creating joy and connection. Examples of communal gifts could include: - DJing a set at our after party - Playing guitar, keys, or some other instrument as ambiance - Leading a yoga session - Bringing a costume box for the after-party - Giant yard games - Offering guided star gazing - Pop-up Coffee Bar - Organizing a craft beer or wine tasting - Providing henna or body art - Face painting - Chair massages - Leading meditation or breathwork sessions - Interactive art installation - Light show or glow-in-the-dark games - Reading tarot cards - Performing something special It's about bringing something that adds to the collective experience, making our time together even more memorable.

Question

Does my gift have to be communal?

Answer

The most meaningful gift to us is your presence at our 3-day retreat celebration. We understand that attending requires both time and financial effort, and we are truly grateful for that. If you’d like to contribute in a special way, consider bringing a communal gift as mentioned above. Of course, if you prefer to choose something from our registry, we will equally cherish that gift. But above all, we are simply thrilled to have you with us.

Question

How do I complete my booking and RSVP?

Answer

Please refer to the RSVP link to submit your attendence details. To complete your booking for the 3-day room and board, it will prompt you to follow the link to Beyul's registration. This step is essential to finalize your RSVP. When you book, you'll also have the option to provide any dietary preferences or request a discount if you’re interested in shared accommodations. Please note that your RSVP is not considered valid until this booking step is complete. We kindly request that you respond promptly. If you find that you are unable to attend, please refer to the cancellation policy below.

Question

Do I have to share a room?

Answer

To make room for all of our closest friends and family, each room must accommodate at least two people. We appreciate your understanding and will do our best to ensure comfortable arrangements for everyone.

Question

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Answer

We understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel your attendance, please inform us as soon as possible so that we may extend the invitation to others. Your payment covers costs for accommodation and non-event meals. For accommodation refunds, cancellations made by January 25, 2025 (eight months in advance), are eligible for a full refund. After this date, we will make every effort to offer your spot to others. However, if the accommodation cannot be filled, you will be responsible for the cost of the room. We can provide refunds for non-event meals with notice by August 25, 2025 (one month in advance).

Question

Can I bring a plus one or children?

Answer

Sorry, but we do not allow plus ones or children. Please check your invite, as all names listed are those individuals who are invited to attend. We love your family, but this unique experience has very limited capacity, and we want to ensure that we can fit all our dearest friends and family. Additionally, we’d love for you to make the most of this special retreat without having to attend to young ones, so you can fully relax and enjoy the celebration. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Beyul Retreat is nestled in the mountains, northeast of Aspen. The closest airport is Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, which is about a 1 hour drive from the venue. Another great option is Denver International Airport (DIA), where you might find more affordable direct flights. Although it’s a bit more of a drive (around 4-4.5 hours), the route is incredibly scenic. To reach the retreat, you’ll need to rent a car or coordinate with another guest to carpool. If you have your travel plans set and are interested in carpooling options, feel free to reach out to us. We can attempt to help connect you with other guests who might be on a similar schedule.

Question

What if I cannot stay the full 3 days?

Answer

We completely understand that not everyone may be able to stay for the entire 3-day celebration. However, we do want to encourage our guests to join us for the full experience if possible. Our dream is to have the opportunity to share this special time and connect with everyone who has been such a meaningful part of our lives. Unlike a traditional wedding, where time with each guest might be limited, this retreat allows us to truly enjoy quality moments with each of you. We've been incredibly selective in ensuring that the most meaningful people in our lives were invited, and we hope to share the entire experience together. If you’re unable to stay for the full duration, please note that you will still be responsible for covering lodging costs, as we have blocked the rooms specifically for our guests and cannot offer them to others. However, you will not need to cover non-event food costs for the days you are not present, granted you inform us of this at least one month in advance. If this creates any concerns or issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and can be a part of our celebration in the way that works best for them.

Question

What if I want to share a room/cabin with a friend or another couple?

Answer

If you'd like to share a room or cabin with a friend or another couple, that's definitely an option! We are able to offer a discount on rooms with over two people. When you book your room and board, make sure to indicate that you’re open to sharing accommodations with more people (up to 4). We will do our best to accommodate your requests and ensure everyone is comfortably arranged.

Question

Can we stay in a hotel offsite?

Answer

Unfortunately because of venue policy on evenings they serve alcohol, we cannot allow guests to drive to and from the venue for events.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Beyul can accommodate all dietary restrictions, as long as they are shared at least 1 month in advance. The best way to ensure your needs are met is to provide the details when you book your room and board through the provided link. This will help us ensure that your meals are tailored to your requirements throughout the event.

Question

How is cell reception and wifi up there?

Answer

Beyul is a mountain retreat designed to offer an escape. There is no cell reception anywhere on the property, and wifi is available only in the Main Lodge.

Question

What is BYOF?

Answer

You may have seen "BYOF" on the top line of our wedding lineup. BYOF stands for "Bring Your Own Festival," which refers to the communal gift experience created by our guests.
