Where is the wedding?

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is a private island destination in the Bahamas exclusively owned and operated by MSC Cruises. Located in the Bimini chain of islands just 65 miles east of Miami, Florida, this 95-acre tropical paradise serves as a dedicated port of call for MSC guests. Unlike typical cruise line private islands that focus on massive water parks or commercialized thrill rides, Ocean Cay emphasizes natural beauty, marine conservation, and tranquil beach relaxation.

Flight

What flight do I book into Miami? When do I book ?

Airlines post summer schedules about a year out. We’ll remind guests when they start to announce them. Miami is a major hub for American and Frontier, likely offering the most direct options. We recommend arriving the night before, but if flying in the day of embarkation, take the earliest direct flight, arriving before noon. Book return flights from Miami no earlier than noon Monday.

Should we arrive the night before? Where should we stay?

Boarding window will be from about noon - 2:30 pm on Friday so if you are arriving the morning of, please arrive in Miami early morning so you don’t miss the boat! We will stay the night prior at the Hampton Inn Miami Breckell. You are welcome to enjoy the evening (Day 0) with us. You can book with our TA Jen Crew or on your own. We plan to take the Metrorail Orange Line from the MIA airport to Brickell Station and either coordinate with the hotel for their shuttle (~$10) or reserve a rideshare to get to the port the next morning.

What documents do I need to travel?

For a Bahamas cruise roundtrip from Miami, U.S. citizens need a government-issued photo ID and an original or certified birth certificate. A passport valid for at least 6 month isn’t required but is strongly recommended in case of emergencies or if you must fly home from The Bahamas. Read more about required MSC documents at this link

What should I pack? What’s not allowed to bring onboard?

Aim to pack versatile items to keep it light and simple! Click this link below to review MSC luggage limits and prohibited items. Here is a list of recommended packing. Daywear: shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, swimsuit(s). Evening wear: smart-casual outfits for dinner; polished look for the wedding and dinners. Shoes: comfortable walking shoes for excursions + sandals or flip-flops for the pool. Essentials: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, refillable water bottle, toiletry basics. Electronics & docs: phone + charger, travel documents handy. Optional extras: light jacket for ship’s AC or cooler nights, backpack or beach bag for shore outings.

What is the timeline on embarkation day?

Under our group booking we will have a set check in time together. We will update our guests when our assigned time is. You can review what to expect on this link.

Do I need to download the app?

We recommend downloading the “MSC for Me” before boarding. Use it for mobile check-in, digital cruise card, daily schedules with reminders, use interactive ship map to locate everything onboard, book your spa and excursions, and monitor onboard spending, link your credit card, and view bills in real time. When/How do I check in for the cruise?

No earlier than 30 days prior, no later than 24 hours prior. If you have booked with our Travel Agent our agent will provide your E-ticket/boarding pass. If you booked on your own through the website and completed the web check-in, at the end of the web check-in process, you will be able to request via E-mail the E-ticket and download the Boarding pass. Where is parking located if I drive to Miami?

If you are driving you can park at the port in long term parking for $35 a day. Parking is through the port website (link below). The garage is Cruise Terminal AA - Multi-Level Garage AA
