If coming by Train (For our NYC, Philly and Delawarians) You have a few options: 1. Train to Union Station and Take a Cab to Old Town (8 miles away, travel time can range from 20-30 mins) 2. Book a ticket to King Street/ Alexandria Station, which will put you in Old Town Alexandria (will have to wait on the train in DC for about 30 minutes while they change the engines) 3. Train to Union Station and brave the Metro! At Union Station, follow signs to the Metro Metro Instructions- Enter the Red Line (direction: Shady Grove or Glenmont — either is fine) Ride 2 stops to Gallery Place–Chinatown Transfer to the Yellow Line (direction: Huntington) You can also take the Blue Line toward Franconia–Springfield, but Yellow is simplest Stay on the Yellow Line for 7 stops Get off at King Street–Old Town Exit the station — you’ll be right near Old Town Alexandria Total travel time: ~30–35 minutes
