April in Punta Cana is hot, sunny, and tropical, with average highs around 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit) and lows near 23° Celsius (74° Fahrenheit.) The sun is stronger than you think (and expensive at the gift shops!) Bring enough to reapply several times a day. Weather permitting the wedding will be held outside. As part of the dry season, it offers excellent beach weather with generally low rainfall, although brief, sharp showers can occur. The sea is warm, and humidity is moderate, making it a popular time to visit.
No, please wear comfortable and cool clothing. Ladies, please refrain from wearing white or ivory. No beachwear, please.

Tipping is not required, but always appreciated by the staff members. Tipping the resort staff is a way to show appreciation for good service, and general guidelines suggest tipping daily for housekeeping ($2-$5 per day), as well as servers, bartenders, and bellhops ($1–$2 per bag, or $5 for several pieces of luggage) as you receive service. We recommend that you bring cash with you in the form of local Dominican Republic Pesos (can be ordered at your bank) or small USD bills.
Essential documents like your passport, travel information, money, electronics and valuables should be packed in your carry-on luggage. Thefts of valuables in checked luggage have been reported. It is recommended to bring your own floaties for the lazy river as the tubes provided by the resort are not plentiful and you may have to wait. An insulated mug is environmentally friendly and keeps your drinks cold.
