FAQs

Question

Where do I enter for the event?

Answer

The entrance to Show Bar will be found on SE 13th and SE Stark. We will have a sign welcoming you in. Our event is taking place within East and West Show Bar. Keep an eye out for a monument sign with "Washington High School", "New Seasons", and "Show Bar".

Question

How do I find your venue for the big day?

Answer

Revolution Hall sits on the corner of SE Stark and 12th. Keep an eye out for a red brick building. We will have signs posted outside.

Question

What does parking look like for me?

Answer

Limited parking is available in a paid lot at $10.00. Keep an eye out for a sign with a QR code! Street parking is close by; with most streets east of 14th being unmetered.

Question

I'm attending! Is it an open bar?

Answer

Sort of! Guests will get a drink ticket and will order all of their drinks at the bar immediately adjacent to the celebration room. Any beverage beyond the tickets will be a cash bar.

Question

Is there transportation to and from a hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

Since we are not doing a hotel block, method of transportation will be at the preference of each guest.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Show Bar will be open to the public on the day of our celebration! There will also be other events going on in Revolution Hall's primary concert venue - "Ural Thomas and the Pain".

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately no; plus one's have been indicated on your RSVP due to limited venue capacity.

Question

I've got a previous engagement later in the day!

Answer

Don't sweat it! Whatever time you're able to spend with us is meaningful enough; even if that's only for a couple of hours.

Question

Goodness. I'm so hungry I could eat a _____.

Answer

Our event is at a time of day that isn't quite lunch and isn't quite dinner. We will be providing small bites, snacks, some pastas, and dessert! There will be no set "dinner hour"; however there will be enough food to satiate hungry bellies. If you stay to the end, there will be an opportunity to take home a box of "leftovers".

Question

My. Feet. Hurt. You say there's a lot of dancing and disco, but I prefer to sit and chat.

Answer

Good news! We have a chair for you and we understand that dancing isn't everyone's cup of tea/coffee/hot or cold liquid beverage. We are doing table numbers, so keep an eye out for the sign to see where you can leave your coat etc after the ceremony. This event is a big melting pot of personalities - and if dancing isn't your strong suit - striking up a conversation is just as nice. Here are some conversation starters if you can't think of anything to say- "I really love spending time outdoors. What's your favorite hike? Is there a trail or mountain you want to tackle, but haven't yet?" "OMG. I just binge watched all of Lord of the Rings for the 7th time. What about Gandalf's journey made you the most frustrated? Sam was the real hero, am I right?" "Baking is my passion. These are some favorite flavor combinations that I've been experimenting with and really am inspired by this ____ cookbook." "Small talk is the absolute worst, and I am exhausted by it. Let's just sit and close our eyes for a moment...or let's revel in how exhausting talking to people can be." "I'm a musician, or I'm a designer, karaoke is a favorite past-time, lets form a band and be friends" "Our studio is right down the road from Polaris! What good shows should I keep an eye out for" "Have you listened to this podcast lately? It's about farmers utilizing sheep herding patterns to create complex weaving patterns for local wool goods manufacturers. Oh no! I haven't heard about that - tell me more" "What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
