It all began when we were just 16, brought together by a mutual group of friends and our shared Tuesday night tradition—Crazy Tuesdays at the cinema. While everyone else was focused on the movie, Sean was orchestrating seat swaps with his friends just to end up beside Amy, his tactics were anything but subtle. Eventually, Sean worked up the nerve to ask Amy out, and their first “date” was a trip into town to Elliot’s Fancy Dress to pick out a Halloween costume. Just a few weeks later, in October 2013, Sean officially asked Amy to be his girlfriend—and the rest, as they say, is history. Over the past 12 years, we’ve grown up together, celebrating countless milestones along the way. We both started Ulster University on the same day and, four years later, graduated together. We’ve had many amazing holidays, explored new places, and made incredible memories, all while working hard to build a life together. In October 2022, we took one of our biggest steps yet—we bought our dream first home. Then, one year later, in October 2023, Sean surprised Amy with a proposal in the beautiful city of Venice, during a holiday spent celebrating their 10 year anniversary. Of course, she said yes! Looking back, many of our biggest moments have happened in October, so it only feels right to celebrate our most special day in October 2025—our wedding day.
