Whenever you'd like! We plan to stay from Thursday to Sunday. However, if you prefer to arrive on Friday or Saturday, we totally understand.
The happy couple will be heading home on Sunday. But feel free to stay as long as you'd like!
The KOA staff made it very clear that visitors who did not hold a site rental were not allowed in the park. This is mostly because there are limited parking spots for visitors. We are therefore hoping that all guests can join us for at least Saturday night. However, we understand that camping isn't for everyone. Some local guests are planning to rent a site on Saturday just to park their car, and drive home that night. You could also rent a site to park your and rent a hotel room nearby. If none of these options are feasible and you choose not to join us, you'll be missed!
Our only plans for Thursday and Friday are catching up and hanging out. There are plenty of hiking trails in the area and the KOA has a pet park, canoe rentals, a pool, and some amenities targeted for kids (bouncing pad, ball pit, playground). You could also plan to visit Longwood Gardens, which is only 20 minutes south of the KOA. On Saturday, we are planning to provide late lunch/early dinner and we will have some games set up at a central camping site. Please see the "Things to do" tab for details. This is a BYOB event (and weekend). We will have plenty of water available throughout the day.
We decided to have a private ceremony, just the two of us, in May 2026. So you can think of this weekend as a belated reception!
We're camping, people! Wear what you'd like and don't feel pressured to dress up (unless you really want to!). We will likely wear relaxed attire, like summer shorts and a top.
Our #1 goal for this weekend was to make the event as accessible as possible to everyone we love. And of course not to break the bank. As this is a really nontraditional way to celebrate, we are simply asking for our guests to brave the Pennsylvania wilderness and spend the weekend with us. That is gift enough.
We will be there rain or shine and we hope you will be too! There are lots of ways to waterproof a tent (like using tarps!) and if you're especially worried about rain, we would recommend either renting a small RV or making a bed in your car. We plan to bring a few canopies to set up at a central camping site, so in the case of rain, some people can huddle there and the rest can retreat to cabins/lodges/RVs. Of course it would be a bummer if it rained on Saturday, but some of Amy's best childhood memories were made alongside her cousins in a tiny tent under steady rain, so we're not too worried about it.
The central camping site will have a few canopies to provide shade for anyone who wants to come hang out. We will be sure to have lots of water for Saturday and we will be providing a late lunch/early dinner. We'll provide some games and activities, and of course we'll be bringing all kinds of good vibes. Otherwise, you should plan to bring whatever you anticipate needing!
