We knew of one another from a neighborhood dive bar, and then a few years later at Gail and Keith’s wedding, he asked me to dance. That dance led to our first date, which led to a few more weeks of dating, but the timing just wasn’t right for us. We kept track of one another, thinking that maybe one day…
7 1/2 years later… that one day came! We connected on a social media site and he asked me to accompany him to a work function, not realizing it was 2 hours away. Conversation flowed easily, and it was like no time had gone by at all. That’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.” We were both renovating our homes at the time, so the first few months of dating were spent picking out tile and cabinets and paint colors. After a trip to California in November, it was clear that this was the real thing.
We met for a casual workday lunch at Bryant Park, a place we’d met for lunch a few times before. After calmly warning me not to “make a scene”, he took me completely by surprise when he asked me to his wife and presented me with the most beautiful of rings. I immediately said YES!
We discussed planning a big wedding, but then thought – "It’s been 8 1/2 years, why wait?" We had a previously scheduled trip to Las Vegas, so we took a gamble and decided to turn it into our dream wedding weekend. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all. See you in Brooklyn!
