We spent the week of our Christmas vacation surrounded by love and family. Fully packed with activities, day trips and meals while coming to the end of our week off, we spent the day before New Year’s Eve touring Fonthill Castle with my family. My heart could’ve burst with all the love, laughter and peace from that day. As we drove home, Mat asked if I wanted to stop by his best friend Ryan’s party and although it was late, I wasn’t at all tired from the festivities. I agreed. As we collectively went from Room to Room in the party, I eventually made my way to the garage. Everyone was seated in the corner all facing the door in a half circle I thought strange and then suddenly when I turned around I saw Mat charging to my side. He knelt down on one knee, opened the box with the beautiful engagement ring inside and said you know how I told you that I would spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you? Sobbing I couldn’t get the words out, I shook my head in agreement. Then marry me, he replied.
