Flight

Airports

Frienze-Peretola Airport, Florence Florence's airport is the closest airport to the Tuscany region. A likely arrival destination unless your pre-wedding travel plans take you elsewhere. Please note, Florence's airport is 15 minutes outside of the main city of Florence and is a quick taxi or train ride into the city. We do recommend renting cars directly from the airport. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport - Roma Rome's airport is a little over 2 hours south of the venue. Like Florence, Rome is extremely difficult to drive and park, so we recommend renting a car from the airport. Malpensa Airport - Milan Malpensa is one of the largest airports in Italy, however, it is located in the North of the country. It is approximately 4.5 hour drive from Milan to the venue. Some popular travel destinations in the North include Lake Como, Venice, Parma, Modena, and of course, Milan.

Rental Car

RENTAL CAR

There are various rental car agencies, including Avis/Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz. Most European rentals are stick shift, so make sure to request automatic upon booking if needed. It’s always best to rent from the Florence airport (or any airport) and we highly recommend not driving in the city center of Florence. Some cars do not have GPS and some do, you can always rent one. You can also use Google Maps directions but you will need to have an international cell phone plan for your trip (You can do this for a short-term period by contacting your provider). Also - it is very important that you use "CASTEL MONASTERO RESORT" when typing the location into Google Maps. We recommend cross-referencing the address as well before driving.

Castel Monastero can arrange private car transport for guests. Please reach out to Valentina at event@castelmonastero.com to reserve. She can help arrange transportation while on property as well. PASSPORT REMINDER

We highly encourage everyone to check their passport expiration date now! Passports are taking longer than usual. Reminder, you cannot travel internationally if your passport is set to expire within 6 months of travel.
