Juan and Amy met during their church's beach retreat back in 2014. Juan actually sat in front of Amy on the 12-hour bus ride to Pensacola, Florida, where they had their first encounter. At a rest stop in Mississippi, the leaders told everyone to wake up whoever was sleeping, which is exactly what Juan did to Amy, to which she bluntly responded, "You didn't have to do that." Juan must have liked the sass because the rest is history. Since then, they have shared six birthdays, Thanksgivings, Christmases and countless unforgettable memories. When they say, "Marry your best friend," that's exactly who Juan and Amy are to each other. No matter what, through thick and thin, they will always be each other's person.
A day neither Juan nor Amy will ever forget. It was Black Friday, and all of Amy's friends were in town. She thought they were going to have a fun girl's day of breakfast, manicures, and pictures at Second Baptist, where their friendship had started years before. But, little did Amy know, Juan had had something in the works for that special day months in advance. After brunch and getting their nails done, Amy and her friends showed up at Second Baptist, taking pictures and reminiscing about their high school days. All of a sudden, Juan popped out from around the corner and asked Amy to go on a walk. At this point, she had a feeling about what would happen next. They walked down the corridor, rounded the corner, and at the very spot Juan had asked Amy to be his girlfriend so many years ago, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, Amy said yes.
