To our family, friends and loved ones, We are sorry to say that our wedding has been cancelled due to the current status of COVID-19. While we hope to plan some sort of celebration in the future, we do not believe making new plans is best at this time. While we wish everyone could be there to see us tie the knot, we can’t imagine waiting any longer. After being engaged for nearly two years, we have decided April 18th is still when we want to become husband and wife. And that is what we plan to do. We take comfort in the wise words of The Rolling Stones, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well, you might find, you get what you need”. We hope that this will pass quickly and safely and we will be able to celebrate and rejoice with all of you soon. Thank you for your time and patience, The (soon to be) Knights
3/18/2020 Hi everyone! We are very excited about getting married in one month and are looking forward to celebrating with all of you! We are still holding out hope that we will be able to get married on April 18, 2020 at our chosen venue. We are deciding to be optimistic and have negotiated an extra two weeks with our venue before we need to make a decision on if we need to postpone the wedding. We will be posting updates here as we learn more in the upcoming weeks. We understand this is a stressful, unusual and atypical situation, but, we want to thank you for your patience with us! We also understand some of you may no longer be able to make the wedding due to the recent outbreak. We appreciate you maintaining social distancing and doing what is best for you! This may be "our day," but, this is your life and your health and the health of those around you are much more important! Please feel free to email me regarding any change in RSVP or any questions you may have. Please email: abknight6@gmail.com With all our love and hope for the best, Josh & Amy
Josh and Amy were in the same German class at Auburn University in early 2011. Josh says he remembers the day he first saw Amy. Amy stayed by the door to leave early. By the second class Amy moved across the room to the seat next to Josh. They became fast friends and Amy helped Josh passed German. For years, they were friends who were only "German Girl," and "Thats Josh, from German" to each other, that was until Amy needed a date to the Cream Rose Ball. In October 2013 Amy asked Josh to be her senior sorority formal date. They continued to date over the next few months. On January 24, 2014 Josh asked Amy to be his Girlfriend. Amy was off to Charleston and Josh to Starkville, Mississippi but they continued to make the 9+ hour road trip to see each other for a year. Due to Charleston's Law schools uncertain future, Amy transferred to Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama to be closer to Josh while he was in Starkville, and after he graduated in Cullman, Alabama. In 2017, Amy moved to Atlanta and Josh moved with her. In August, 2018 Josh planned a surprise trip to Boston, Massachusetts. On the plane, Josh handed Amy an envelope that had two tickets to see Amy's favorite, Billy Joel. Amy started to get excited about what the weekend could hold... Josh had told her he was wearing a jacket to dinner on Saturday night and Amy was trying to not let her imagination run away, but knowing a jacket would be great for a ring. When they landed, Josh asked Amy to walk to get lobster rolls for lunch, "it was just across the park." As they walked across Boston's Public Gardens Amy talked about willow trees being the "cockroach of trees" while Josh was picking his spot. He asked on one knee in the Garden before lunch and somehow managed to completely surprise Amy! (She said YES!)
