We're getting married!

Dave and I met on a cruise to Mexico. We were each traveling with our teenage daughters and decided to meet up so that we could introduce our daughters. We hit it off immediately and the rest was history. The funny thing is, I had had a dream a few weeks before the cruise that I would meet a man. The dream was very specific. I dreamt that I met a man at the Dive-in Movie on the Lido Deck of the ship and that he was traveling with his two older daughters, but he also had twins that were too young to have the Covid vaccine. Well, it turns out that we DID meet on the Lido Deck at a Dive-in movie, and Dave does have four children...two older daughters and a set of twins that WERE too young to get the vaccine. The only thing that was different in my dream was that Dave's oldest daughter didn't want to get the vaccine, so she wasn't on the cruise.

If you know my family, you know that they can be a little bit intimidating! We live in different states, so we had been dating for two months before Dave met my family. He actually came for a visit for Thanksgiving and to help me recover from knee surgery. And of course, to meet my family. Obviously, he survived the interrogation!

My family had been planning a Christmas cruise for two years, in celebration of my amazing parents' 50th anniversary and Dave joined us. He and Maddie planned out a photo session in front of the ship's massive Christmas tree, all under the pretense of getting pics of the three of us in the Grinch shirts that I had made. Someone took a pic of all of us, and then Dave handed his phone to Maddie to take a pic of just the two of us. Suddenly, Dave dropped to one knee and popped the question. As you can see, I was quite surprised!
