We are providing parking festival-style out in our field! The entrance to the parking area will be at the northeastern-most point of our fence line off of Sleeping Child Road. It will be clearly marked, so once you turn onto Sleeping Child Road, just look out for our signage on the right (west) side. We will be mowing the parking area and providing guidance with our own vehicles as to where you should park. Please note that the ground will be very uneven and unpredictable, so take it slow if you have a low-clearance car (or maybe leave it at home). IMPORTANT NOTE FROM SMOKEY THE BEAR: As we brace for Montana's wildfire season, we ask that you PLEASE ONLY DRIVE OVER MOWED AREAS, as driving cars over dry, hot grass is a major fire hazard!
This will be a pretty standard Montana outdoor wedding setting, which for the uninitiated means: come prepared for all possible weather situations! The two most important things to keep in mind when building your outfit are: 1) BRING LAYERS. Light jacket, cardigan, rain coat, etc. We will blame any rain on the people who didn't bring their rain coats...just kidding, but seriously. July is hot, though, so make sure your layers can be shed. 2) WEAR SENSIBLE SHOES. The natural ground can be a very unpredictable, uneven place. Please DO NOT wear any super delicate, high-heeled shoes, or generally uncomfortable shoes. Our vibe is "Montana fancy," which is to say DO dress up, but DON'T stress about getting super fancy for us. Chacos/Tevas, sun dresses, and khakis are all totally acceptable. And by all means, live your fancy fashion truth, if that's your jam! But specifically, we'd recommend avoiding long gowns or any other terribly restrictive clothing, for the reasons described above.
Festivities will be held outside in our giant yard where there is plenty of room to socially distance as needed. We will not require guests to wear masks outside, however we encourage unvaccinated guests to wear masks while inside any buildings on the property, primarily for your own safety. The two of us are extremely lucky to be fully vaccinated, and we’re thrilled that, at this point, so are most of our friends and family. We’re optimistic that most of our guests will be vaccinated by July, which will help keep the risk of transmission low at an outdoor event like this. We of course want everyone to feel as safe as possible on our big day, but we also recognize that we’re not perfect, and it will be impossible for us to guarantee zero COVID risk. Knowing this, we simply ask that you each do your own soul-searching about whether you’ll feel comfortable attending our wedding, and please know that you’ll have our full support, whatever your choose.
Yes — we would love to see the whole fam! But please do keep in mind that alcohol will be present, and the late-night party will eventually become less appropriate for kiddos.
Your invitation should explicitly list a significant other's name or "guest," if you've been allocated a plus-one. Because we'll be hosting at our own home, we're flexible, but we do need to have a solid handle on numbers for food and other logistics. If you're unsure what the plus-one scenario is for you, just shoot us a text or email and we'll get it sorted out!
Our registry is only available on this very website (Zola)! You should be able to see the "Registry" tab at the top of your screen. There, you can order (and contribute to) physical gifts that we've chosen from all over the internet, contribute to our honeymoon or home improvement funds, or even abstain entirely (because your friendship is plenty great for us!).
Our address is 839 Sleeping Child Rd, Hamilton, MT. You can simply enter this address into Google Maps and it'll get you here! It may navigate to our home driveway, but for this event, parking will be accessible from the farthest north entrance to our property. It will be clearly marked, so keep an eye out on your right as soon as you turn onto Sleeping Child Road. For those without a smartphone... From Hamilton, you'll simply continue south all the way through town on US-93 S/N 1st Street. Once you’ve made it through town, continue south on US-93 S for ~3 miles. Turn left at the intersection for MT-38 E/Skalkaho Hwy (towards Grantsdale, there’s a flashing light at the intersection). Continue on this road for about 3/4 of a mile, then turn right on Sleeping Child Rd (turn right as the road curves sharply to the left/east). The parking entrance will be on the right (west) side of the road and will be clearly marked, but it will come up quickly, so be prepared!
