Minnewaska State Park Preserve

5281 Route 44-55, Kerhonkson, NY 12446

Minnewaska State Park Preserve is situated on the dramatic Shawangunk Mountain ridge, which rises more than 2,000 feet above sea level and is surrounded by rugged, rocky terrain. The park features numerous waterfalls, three crystalline sky lakes, dense hardwood forests, incising sheer cliffs and ledges opening to beautiful views, clear streams cut into valleys, 35 miles of carriage roads and 50 miles of footpaths on which to bike, walk, hike and simply enjoy.

Water Street Market

10 Main Street, New Paltz, NY 12561

Water Street Market in New Paltz marks the tail end of their main strip. Here you can find restaurants with a breathtaking view of the Shawangunk Mountains, coffee shops, and an antique store. Continue down along Main Street and you will find many interesting shops to wander into (like a secondhand bookstore and a cat cafe) and many, many more restaurants. Or go in the opposite directions. Heading away from town, you can follow the Wallkill River rail trail to take in the remarkable scenery of the Hudson Valley.

Breweries, Wineries, and Cider Houses

There are many amazing wineries, breweries and cider houses throughout the region. Recommending just one is too difficult! Breweries: Yard Owl, Gardiner Brewing Company, Hudson Ale Works Wineries: Robibero Family Vineyards, Benmarl Winery, Fjord Vineyards Cider Houses: Brooklyn Cider House, Bad Seed, Kettleborough Cider House
