What turned out to be just another family vacation ended up being the day that they (unknowingly) met the love of their lives. Having been the longtime babysitter for Andy's step brother and sister, Amy had become a part of the Kapolnek family over the years. However, it wasn't until a trip to Florida in the summer of 2000 that Amy and Andy finally met. They immediately bonded and spent the next few years going on family vacations, hanging out at each other's family parties and, as always, keeping the four younger siblings in check. While the universe took them on separate journeys - Amy to University Iowa and NYC, and Andy to Eastern Illinois and Chicago - they always managed to secretly stay in touch through Andy's Dad. Fast-forward to August 2018 at Andy's step sister's wedding. Unbeknownst to Andy, Amy had flown in from NYC to attend. At that point, they hadn't spoken or seen each other in over 9 years! They instantly reconnected and five days later Andy flew to NYC to visit Amy. Their shameless flirting that started on that beautiful summer night has continued every night since.
