We're Getting Married!

In a pandemic-free world where many met through Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge, Amy & Reuben met through Monster Mutt, Megalodon, and Gravedigger. Yes, that’s right, the two met at Monster Jam, in Capital One Arena, in January 2020, at a mutual friends’ birthday party. For the two of them, the birthday party became their first date, visiting the coveted Rocket Bar and the Jefferson Memorial thereafter. It wouldn’t be until June 28th, 2020 that Amy & Reuben made things “official” (millennial speak for “legitimately dating”). Amongst the immediate spark of energy the two felt, it was clear that their relationship would be a little different than most. For Reuben it was a deeply profound level of trust he found in Amy as if he’d known her in a previous life. For Amy, it was how comfortable and safe she felt - and the fact that Reuben made her laugh until her stomach hurt. The two agreed that if things got hard they would make every effort to over communicate with one another. Amy & Reuben would spend the COVID pandemic with each other. Masks, sanitizer, social distancing; the whole nineteen yards. During the pandemic Amy shared her love of Cooking and Harry Potter with Reuben, and he shared his love of the Outdoors and Star Wars with her. As the pandemic fizzled out, they would travel around the country to attend friends weddings, and return to Cap One to watch Caps Games. Eventually Reuben would make the trip up to Bel Air to meet Lisa and Dan, and Amy over to Potomac to meet Joanne and Mark. As they spent time with each other’s families, celebrating holidays and attending get-togethers, it was clear traditions were different, but that above all, family and community were the most important. They are beyond excited to continue these traditions and create some of their own as they start their family. Amy and Reuben look forward to kicking it all off with their loved ones on their Wedding Day!
