We met as sophomores in high school and became instant best friends. After countless musical rehearsals, after-school trips to Panera, late night phone calls, and walks to the park, we became inseparable. We've been told the best romances stem from friendship, and ours is no exception. One week after attending Junior Homecoming together as "just friends,” we began officially dating on October 25, 2009. We haven't looked back since.
One Saturday in April 2019, Kenny made impromptu brunch plans in the city. We made the trek into town on that gorgeous spring morning with plenty of time to spare before our reservation. We wandered through Barnes & Noble and through Rittenhouse Square, trying to kill time. We eventually settled down on a bench to enjoy some sunshine before breakfast. Kenny reached into his shopping bag to pull out a gift. It was a wish box- the very same wish box Amy had given him 9 and a half years prior. The point of the wish box was to write down your greatest life's wish and keep it in the box, which couldn't be opened until the wish came true. Kenny pulled out a picture from Junior Homecoming and reflected on everything we've experienced together since that night, and all of the adventures still to come. He then got down on one knee and asked the single most important question of both of our lives. (Spoiler alert: she said yes!) We couldn't be more excited to share our special day with all of our family, friends, and loved ones. Thank you for your unconditional love and support!
After 8 weeks of quarantining and social distancing to help combat the spread of COVID-19, we made the difficult decision to postpone our 8/8/2020 wedding to 8/7/2021. It was a hard decision that was complete with plenty of emotional ups and downs, but we know that it was the right call for us. We want to thank our amazing church and vendors for being so flexible and positive while we navigated through the postponement process. And we want to thank our bridal party, friends, and family - especially our parents - for being so supportive and being there for us to lean on over the last few weeks. Our special day will be even more meaningful next year when we can finally gather safely with all of our favorite people. The countdown just got much longer, but we know it'll be well worth the wait. Please prepare to party accordingly on 8/7/2021. We'll see you there!
While our ceremony location hasn't changed, our previous reception venue made the unfortunate decision to remain closed and cancel contracts for majority of the remaining year. We have fortunately found another beautiful reception venue: Tyler Arboretum in Media, PA!
