Things To Do

Explore Downtown Boise

Downtown Boise offers the perfect blend of charm and energy, with tree-lined streets, distinctive local shops, and a variety of dining and nightlife. Guests can stroll the Boise River Greenbelt, browse the Saturday Farmers Market, explore the historic Basque Block, or walk down Freak Alley to look at fun murals. Begin the morning at Blue Sky Bagels, savor dinner at Fork with farm-to-table Idaho flavors or at Chandler’s for an elevated steak and seafood experience, or enjoy a variety of restaurants on 8th street! Conclude the night with handcrafted cocktails at The Gatsby Speakeasy.

Explore Downtown Nampa

Downtown Nampa offers a wonderful mix of dining and nightlife. Enjoy elevated dining at Brick 29, a local favorite known for its creative take on classic dishes, or savor a gourmet burger at Holy Cow. For those who love unique cocktails, you’ll find two hidden gems: Craft Lounge, celebrated for its inventive craft drinks, and the Sick Stag Speakeasy, both stylish spots with a Prohibition-era vibe.

Nampa Wineries

Just outside of downtown, the Snake River Valley Wine Region is home to more than 15 local wineries and vineyards, often described as Idaho’s own mini Napa Valley. Guests can enjoy tasting flights at well-loved spots like Sawtooth Winery and Ste. Chapelle Winery, both known for their stunning views and celebrated varietals. Other favorites include Indian Creek Winery, a family-owned vineyard with award-winning blends, Huston Vineyards, known for its bold reds and charming tasting room, and Koenig Vineyards, offering a true taste of the valley’s character. With patios, live music, and sweeping scenery, the wineries near Nampa provide a relaxed and memorable way to experience the weekend.

Breweries

The Treasure Valley has become a destination for craft beer lovers, with Nampa and Boise offering plenty of spots to raise a glass. In Nampa, the Mother Earth Brewing Company Distribution Center anchors the local scene, bringing bold West Coast flavors to Idaho. Nearby, Crescent Brewery and Pre-Funk offer small-batch favorites in welcoming, laid-back settings. Boise adds variety, from the vibrant Payette Brewing Company, with its spacious riverside taproom and food trucks, to Sockeye Brewing, a longtime local favorite, and Boise Brewing, known for its community-focused brews in the heart of downtown Boise.

See the Blue Turf at BSU

No trip to Boise is complete without a stop at Boise State University, home of the iconic blue turf at Albertsons Stadium. Stroll through the Allen Noble Hall of Fame Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm and see it for yourself!

Enjoy a Famous Ice Cream Baked Potato

1113 E Parkcenter Blvd, Boise, ID 83706

Don’t be fooled by the name—the “ice cream potato” is actually vanilla ice cream rolled in cocoa powder, topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and nuts to look just like a baked potato. It’s delicious and a must-try local treat when you’re in town!

Float the Boise River

4049 South Eckert Road, Boise, ID 83716

A true Boise summer tradition! Rent a raft or tube at Barber Park and float about 6 miles down to Ann Morrison Park. It takes around 2–3 hours and is an easy, relaxing way to beat the July heat. Pro tip: bring water shoes, sunscreen, and snacks—you can even rent tubes and coolers!

Hike Table Rock & the Foothills

Table Rock is one of Boise’s most iconic hikes, with trails that are easy to access. The hike is about 3.7 miles round trip, with plenty of places to stop for water breaks and photos along the way. At the top, you’ll find beautiful views of the Treasure Valley. You can park near the Old Penitentiary and follow the well-marked trailhead right up to the summit! While you're there check out the nearby Idaho Botanical Garden for a peaceful stroll.

Dinner At The Shed

1010 S La Pointe St,, Boise, ID 83706
