We both went to SCC and Caleb would come into the Bookstore where I worked in between classes. He would never say anything, so we never actually "met" while we went to SCC but Caleb had his eye on me. We eventually met at a party, where we talked for a little bit. It took me about a year to accept his friend request on Facebook as I had been dating someone else and was then recently single so I added him. From there we started talking, and made plans to go out together on our first date. After about 6-8 months of dating I moved in with him, due to our schedules it was easier that way instead of having to drive back and forth all the time. The rest was history, lots of fun memories throughout the years and I cannot wait to marry my bestfriend!
As for our engagement Caleb had done a lot of planning to make sure everything fell into place perfectly, and lets just say I never caught on to anything. It was a complete surprise. He had made a plan to meet my step-dad to ask for his permission, Caleb had surprised him down in the parking lot of my sisters Dance Studio. As Dave is a tough person to track down, Caleb knew by talking with my mom that Dave would be picking up my sister and made his way down to meet him. Then Caleb began his planning as where he was going to propose and how he would do it. Our friend Mindy began practicing and doing run throughs and planning everything with Caleb. So the start of Caleb's plan was to ask me to help him check some fields before we would go to Mankato to have supper. We left our house to go to the first field, as we were doing this Mindy and her husband Marcus ran to our house to get our dog. The next field we went to is where Mindy's sister lives. You can see Caleb's Farm from their field/home. Caleb walked me along the field and had planned to stop where you could see his Farm behind us (for picture purposes) he wanted it in the background. He had stopped me and said this is the part of the field that he planned on checking. Instead of walking into the field he turned towards me and started to get down on a knee and said the only thing I am more excited to watch grow than my crops is our family and asked me to marry him while pulling the ring out of his back pocket. I was in complete shock and honestly thought he was joking as Caleb likes to mess around and joke with me. I could not believe the ring I was seeing and clearly said YES. Mindy let our dog come running to us and Caleb had a bandana on him that said Mommy will you Marry Daddy. Mindy went ahead and took some more pictures for us and then we proceeded to go have supper in Mankato. It was so fun to hear all the little details from Caleb that I never picked up on while he was planning.
