We met in the new age of dating apps. It is not the most romantic story of how we met, but we are sure glad we matched. Katie lived in Boise, while Josh lived in Mountain Home. From matching to talking to going on our first date, it was very quick. We both enjoyed Facetiming and talking so much that the next time Josh was going to be in Boise, we planned to go on our first date. Our first date was in a dive bar called 44 Club in Garden City, Idaho. As nervous as we both were, we had such a good time. We spent the entire weekend together after meeting for the first time and have been inseparable since. We bonded on our passion for the military, with Josh serving in the United States Air Force and Katie being in a multi-generational military family and working as a contractor for the Idaho Army National Guard. We also bonded caring for Josh's puppy Beau. Beau and Katie immediately bonded, and we spent many of our early dating days together with the dog. We both quickly determined we made great pet parents together and loved watching every second of Beau growing up. We quickly fell in love and decided to move in together a few months later after dating. Josh moved into Katie's small 2 bedroom 1 bathroom 847 square foot home. While moving into such a small home together was challenging, it also provided us time to bond and become even closer. Katie also knew Josh was the one when he was able to survive the family vacation with Katie's family. And those who have vacationed with her family know that surviving a family vacation is no easy feat. You must have patience, a willingness to deal with the craze, and access to alcohol, which, thankfully, the cruise was fully stocked in. We added four more legs to our family because we just had more love to give, and we welcomed Luna into our lives. We have enjoyed the ups and downs of having two puppies ruling our home, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Our dogs are such a huge part of our life and we have enjoyed spending many days with our two pups. A few months after moving in together, a fixer-upper rental became available for us to help fix up and rent. As Katie saw Josh work every day to help, along with many members of Katie's family, fix up the house of her dreams, she knew that Josh was exactly what she was looking for. We eventually moved into our new home and settled in. Since then, we had our 1-year anniversary of dating, birthdays, holidays, and many dates to Texas Roadhouse (one of our favorite places to go together). We have never been a couple to take our time to do things, and our wedding is no different when you know you know, and we both know we are ready to spend the rest of our lives together. We can not wait to celebrate the start of our forever with our family, closest friends, and friends we consider our family.
