The Baraat is a wedding welcome procession for the groom with lively music and dancing. Join us outside in the Capitol courtyard where we will escort him to the ceremony! Directions: The Capitol parking lot is located on Washington Street. Turn left on Washington Street to enter the Capitol Complex. After parking, walk past the green-roofed building to reach the outdoor area near the fountain courtyard. Note: After the Baraat, all guests must go through Capitol security upon entering the building. This includes placing pocket contents/purses into a bin for screening and walking through a metal detector.
Wedding Ceremony
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Parking Directions: The Capitol parking lot is located on Washington Street. Turn left on Washington Street to enter the Capitol Complex. Venue Directions: Once parked, walk up the sidewalk between the Culture Center (right) and the main Capitol building (left). Enter the Public Entrance on the left. All guests must go through security to enter the building. Once through security, turn right and go to the end of the hallway. Once you reach the governor's rotunda, turn left. You will come to the Lower Rotunda columns -stairs are on the right and elevators are on the left on either side of the Information Desk. If taking the elevator, press 1. You will arrive at the Upper Rotunda where the ceremony will be held. We will have directional signs inside the venue as well. Note: All guests must go through Capitol security after entering the building. This includes placing pocket contents/purses into a bin for screening and walking through a metal detector.
Cocktail Social

Join us for appetizers & drinks at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Note: Guests may head to the Embassy Suites Hotel directly after the ceremony for the cocktail social. A break is built in between the two functions to account for exit and travel time. It is an approximately 8 minute drive to the Embassy Suites from the Capitol. Parking: - There is a parking garage directly behind the Embassy Suites Hotel. Parking is $1 daily. - Official parking for hotel and event guests is located in the Charleston Mall parking garage directly across the street. (Address: 3000 Charleston Town Center, Charleston, WV 25301). Guests can cross the street or catch the shuttle that runs the loop between the garage and the hotel entrance. Parking is $2 daily. - Parking spaces in front of the hotel are for valet use only. Valet parking is $21 daily. - Street parking is available in the vicinity of the hotel.
