Our story began in 2010 when we first met as classmates in a research class at John Bowne High School, merely acquaintances sharing the same classroom. Gradually, through shared assignments and casual conversations, we began to know each other better. As we found ourselves in more classes together, our connection grew stronger, turning us from acquaintances into close friends. Laughter and late-night study sessions cemented our bond. As the years unfolded, our friendship deepened, hinting at something more profound. It wasn't until May 2014, with graduation on the horizon, that we realized our hearts had been quietly intertwining all along. Taking a leap of faith, we began dating, embracing the love that had blossomed between us. Just a month later, we walked into prom hand in hand, not just as dates, but as partners starting a lifelong journey together.
After nine wonderful years together, Adam knew the time was right to begin our next chapter. To create an intimate and unforgettable proposal, he planned a heartfelt surprise on July 15th, 2023—just a day after his own birthday. Enlisting the help of both our families, they convinced me to organize what I thought was a surprise birthday party for him at his family's house. Little did I know, I was actually planning the celebration of my own engagement. On the day of the proposal, Adam came to my house and picked me up, both of us sharing excited smiles for the "party" ahead. As we arrived, he gently led me up to the family's deck. There, a delicate path of orchids, my favorite flowers, guided me to a heart made of rose petals and a stunning bouquet of red, white, and yellow roses. Nestled within the center rose was a gleaming engagement ring. With heartfelt words, Adam expressed how deeply he cared for me and how he wished to spend the rest of his life by my side. Kneeling down on one knee, he asked me to marry him. Overwhelmed with emotion, I joyfully said yes.
