We met at South Dakota State University, where we both attended college — Go Jacks! 💛💙 Andrew and I first met through mutual friends during freshman year, but we stayed just friends at the time. Andrew did ask me on a date that year… although I thought we were simply grabbing dinner as friends 😅 (sorry, Andrew!). The summer after freshman year we reconnected at a friend’s party, and going into sophomore year Andrew became a little more persistent. After the first weekend back at school, Andrew asked me out in the SDSU parking lot. I initially turned him down, thinking he might not actually be serious. When I realized he truly meant it, I quickly changed my mind and agreed to be his girlfriend! The moral of the story: persistence can get you a lot farther than bad pickup lines. 😉
