When Josh and I met I was selling (very expensive) coolers in the Costco that he worked at. He said he was going to buy a cooler and when I asked which one he wanted, Josh asked which one came with my phone number. I told him he didn't have to buy a cooler, he could just ask for my number but he said "no, this will make a better story for the grand kids one day," picked up a cooler box and handed me a pen. Who would have thought two years later we would get engaged and one day our grandchildren will get to hear our story!

I was dead asleep an hour before Josh proposed. We had toyed with the idea of going to Anderson's Sunflower Farm to take some pictures for weeks but it was raining (again) so I decided to take a nap instead. As far as I knew, our good friend Sara was getting back into a groove with photography and needed some models, but obviously I was in the dark! Josh jumped on top of me while I was sleeping and told me to get up and get dressed, he and Sara had decided that since there was a gap in the rain we were going to get at least a few pictures in. Once I shook off the shock of being woken up that way I got myself dressed, we picked up Lavonne (Josh's grandma "wanted to see the sunflowers too"), and we drove to Anderson's. It was a muddy mess but I love sunflowers so we wandered around looking at the flowers taking pictures along the way. Lavonne and Sara were standing next to each other and Sara told me to face her so Josh could wrap his arms around me for the next picture. I stood facing them smiling away and behind me, Josh got down on one knee and pulled out the most perfect ring! Josh said my name and suddenly I realized what was happening - I turned around and saw him and the first thing out of my mouth was, "No you are not!" Apparently Josh had a whole speech worked out in his head but in that moment all he said was "uh.....will you?" The answer was, and always will be, yes!
