Kevin has always been a theatrical guy. In college at New Paltz, he was involved in many production opportunities, including a student-run theatre company called the Miami Theatre Players. Laura has also always been a theatrical...doll. She spent the first two years of her time at New Paltz auditioning for the Miami Theatre Players, to no avail (she promises she's talented!) During Laura's junior year and Kevin's senior year, Miami was putting on a production of A New Brain, with Kevin as the director, and a good friend of Laura's as the assistant director. As many times before, Laura auditioned for the show as the Kristin Chenoweth role (iykyk). Kevin wanted to cast someone else he knew, because he is a nepotist, but his assistant asked him to cast Laura, her friend, because she knew how much Laura wanted to do musical theatre again, and she was also a nepotist. He obliged. And so they met. Over the next few months working together, they developed a friendship, which continued after Kevin graduated. They stayed in touch, becoming very close and talking almost constantly. When Kevin came to see Miami's fall show after he graduated, which Laura was directing (thanks to his first political/electioneering efforts), he professed his like to her. This was absolutely shocking to her, as he was well aware that she, at one point or another, had wanted to date Ben and Brad, two of Kevin's best friends. But, the more she thought about it, the more she started to see just how good they could be together. And so the adventure began on January 20, 2016. After about six months of dating long distance, with Laura in New Paltz and Kevin in Syracuse, Kevin accepted a job at MSNBC and Laura was set to begin her career teaching in NYC public schools; they both called New York City their home in the summer of 2016. Many years of beautiful memories and difficult moments have led to this special day. This story could be twenty pages long, describing all of the beats of the nine years they have been together. There were moments when they thought this day would never come; there were months that they were apart; there were days of Fagan Christmases and dinners with Laura's parents and finding their favorite spots in New York and mourning the loss of their dog, Lucy, and being so angry that they didn't speak and hikes and New Paltz and everything else that makes Kevin and Laura, Kevin and Laura. They are so blessed to be sharing the ups, downs, and the beautiful, messy moments of their lives together with their guests on their wedding day, and can't wait to begin the next chapter of this life they've built. They would like to thank each and every one of you for being a part of their story, and for helping them to where they are today.
