"Whatever our souls are made of... his and mine are the same."

Natalie and Jonathan met on their very first day of undergrad, as shy, overwhelmed Freshman at Willamette University. Natalie thought he was a big, quiet, athlete man; and Jonathan thought she was a quirky, slightly too loud, book nerd. They got to know each other much better in Intro Chemistry lab, when Natalie quickly realized that Jonathan was the most coveted lab partner, extremely smart, and most importantly, very patient. And Jonathan quickly realized that while she’s very smart, he should not let Natalie pour any liquids that burned or dissolved skin. They slowly got to know each other a bit more; lab talk gradually evolving into small talk, however Natalie felt that she mostly just alarmed Jonathan. To her surprise, one day at lunch, Jonathan walked up to her where she was sitting at a large table and asked to join. And then finally came the day when Jonathan asked Natalie on a date. He took her to a mediocre, probably somewhat offensive comedian that happened to come to campus, but he knew Natalie well enough to know she wouldn’t turn down free pizza. Whether they expected it or not, they soon came to know the other as someone who knows how to make them laugh, make them feel like the only one in the world, perfect study buddies, and best of friends. 10 years later, and a lot of ups and downs of life, they still love the goofy and unique partner that they found in each other, trust in the other's strength and love, and they're still laughing.
