Shealyn's company, Propeller, was holding an event at Spark Social - a food truck and putt-putt park located in San Francisco. Markus (who is Amol's childhood friend and works at Propeller with Shealyn) was somewhat over-served at the event. Markus and Amol had planned to go to a party that night, but Markus kept forgetting the plans and repeatedly called Amol to figure out what they were going to do. Frustrated, Amol decided to come and pick Markus up, and met Shealyn when he got to Spark Social. Amol then showed Shealyn pictures of his cat, TC, and the rest was history. While Markus had one too many during their first meeting, he deserves full credit for this duo. Earlier that same evening he kept telling Shealyn that she "needed to meet his friend who'd recently been to Burning Man" and that they "would really get along." Similarly, a few days prior, he'd told Amol about the new girl at work who's personality was "a perfect match" for Amol.

Amol proposed to Shealyn on November 13, 2022 after 3 years of dating. He perfectly planned a hike at the Marin Headlands with a view overlooking San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Pacific Ocean right at sunset. Markus, disguised as a nearby tourist, stealthily took photos of the moment.

Shealyn's parents also got married on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 28, 1987) AND she and Amol will share a wedding anniversary with her grandparents, who got married on November 25, 1950. They would be celebrating their 73 wedding anniversary this year.
