Danielle and Craig began their story in the pool at WPI as members of the masters swim team. Craig had been a member of the team for a few years before Danielle made her debut in January 2016. For the first few months, the soon-to-be lovebirds actually didn't communicate much. Danielle thought Craig's name was “Dave” and Craig thought Danielle was a newbie that didn't know how to swim. It wasn't until their championship meet later that spring when the two grew a bit closer and the truth came out; Craig’s name was not Dave, and Danielle was really the faster swimmer of the two! From that point, Craig and Danielle started to really enjoy each other's company and a connection was becoming undeniable. At each practice they would always find themselves “accidentally” jumping in the same lane, or hanging on the pool deck a little longer than everyone else to walk to their cars together. It was one late Wednesday night after practice when the two finally went on a “date” to The Boynton for pizza and beer. Finding out they were both equally obsessed with buffalo chicken pizza was icing on the cake and the two have been literally inseparable ever since!

The big question was popped on Craig and Danielle’s weekend getaway to Portland Maine in December 2018! On Day #2 they woke up to an unseasonably warm day with temps in the 60’s and nothing but clear blue skies. (This was actually a small hurdle for Craig who had stashed the ring away in his big winter coat). Early that morning they took a walk to Bug Light Park with a plan to take in some scenery and hopefully grab a couple Instagram pics! During their walk around the lighthouse there was a brief stop at a binocular station looking out over the water. This was just enough distraction for Craig to slip out the ring and drop to one knee. Danielle’s response was a resounding “YES!” followed by “IT’S SO SHINY”, followed by tears, followed by twenty minutes of twirling and dancing through the park! After a few facetime calls to friends and family, the newly engaged love birds spent the rest of their weekend downtown exploring all the breweries, restaurants, and shops Portland has to offer. It was truly a perfect weekend they'll remember forever!
