Things To Do

St. Roch Market New Orleans

St. Roch Market New Orleans

2381 Saint Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 609-3813

Join us for brunch at our favorite lovely, airy market, featuring local vendors offering a variety of sweet and savory eats and drinks.

Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA 70124
, (504) 658-4100

The sculpture garden is one of my favorite places to simply take a walk. As a bonus, the admission is free! -Amina

New Orleans Botanical Garden

New Orleans Botanical Garden

5 Victory Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 483-9488

This is the site of our very favorite date together! It was hot of course, but the covered bench in the Japanese garden and the native and tropical species rooms provide excellent shade. $8 admission.

Tree of Life

Tree of Life

East Drive, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (800) 672-6124

"The Live Oak Society estimates that any oak with a girth of 17 feet in circumference (measured at 4 feet off the ground) is probably 100 years of age or older." This guy apparently clocks in at just under 35 feet. He's seen some things. It provides yet another opportunity to contemplate the wonders of nature and is fun for the adult climber, too!

Palace Market Frenchmen

Palace Market Frenchmen

619 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70116
, (504) 249-9003

Most of my friends are artists. Some of them sell their outrageously good work in this fun, open air market. It's open every evening between 7p and 12a, so you have plenty of time to find something lovingly made that you'll want to take home with you.

1000 Figs

1000 Figs

3141 Ponce De Leon Street, New Orleans, LA 70119
, (504) 301-0848

Hands down, our favorite place to eat in the city, and the first place I ever truly enjoyed a falafel. Fresh Mediterranean in an adorable, comfortable atmosphere. Close enough to bike or walk before or after your outing at the sculpture or botanical gardens. We highly recommend The Feast with a side of brussels sprouts.

Pizza Delicious

Pizza Delicious

617 Piety Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 676-8482

The title is the entire story. We love it.
