What started as a casual connection quickly became something neither of us could have expected when we met in person in 2023 during Amina’s visit to the United States. From our very first date on April 28, 2023, there was an undeniable connection. It did not feel like meeting someone new, it felt like finding someone familiar, as if our souls already knew each other. Time together felt easy, natural, and full of warmth. For Amina, meeting Ashenafi brought a light into her life that she had not known she was missing.
