Marcus and Kendra initially crossed paths in 2017 while both living in Atlanta. They met through mutual friends (shoutout to Jeremy and Kiara) at a game night. What initially started as a casual friendship, gradually bloomed when Marcus made his intentions well known at a New Year’s party. The two started dating in early 2018. They spent their first official date at the Atlanta botanical garden holiday light show. Over the next few months, Marcus and Kendra spent time getting to know each other while being long distance since Marcus traveled for work over the next year. He spent six months in Houston and six months in New York where Kendra frequently “flewed out” for numerous weekends. During one of those many weekends, Marcus and Kendra made it official and Marcus asked Kendra to be his girlfriend. Fast forward to 2019, Marcus moved back to Atlanta where the two grew their relationship and continued dating. In August 2020, Marcus and Kendra moved in together. The following year, on July 24th, 2021 Marcus asked Kendra to be his wife at the Atlanta botanical gardens, the same location where the two spent their first date. After the proposal, Marcus surprised Kendra with an engagement party that evening where their family and friends flew out to celebrate the engagement. —— And now we’re here, living in our first home together, counting down the days until we’re officially husband and wife on March 26, 2023.
