Chris & I first saw each other on the campus of the University of Memphis. A simple, passive introduction by either one of his fraternity brothers or one of my sorority sisters, yet we never could've imagined God would bring us back together 7 years later, through the ever doubting power of the internet. C: After recognizing Noemi from college & exchanging a few messages, merely reintroducing myself & reminding her how I recognized her from the U of M & Sigma Kappa, I told her I didn't want to keep talking to her through messenger. Not wanting to develop a relationship over a messenger, I asked her out for ice cream. She said she'd try to fit me into her busy schedule. N: Being a teacher & having to attend the infamous back to school in-service meetings can make scheduling difficult. Chris gave me the task of setting the day & place to have this ice cream date. I chose midtown to set a central area in the city for both of us, unbeknownst to me that is was closer to him than I could've guessed. C: Fast forward to our first date night, August 3rd, 2016. As I'm doing my 1st date push-ups & sending her GOT referenced texts, I googled the ice cream shop. Literally a skip &hop away from my front door. Growing up with a sister who always ran a lot later than early, I knew I had time to chill before the date. N: He was late. Growing up with a dad that always reminded you that you were running late because he was adding 15 min. to the actual time, one tends to always show up early to places. I arrived at Sweet Noshings at the set time of 7. 10 minutes later...Chris was still "parking". C: Finding parking across the street from your apartment can be difficult, but I'm glad my tardiness didn't lose me too many points, probably because I apologized & kept her laughing & smiling the rest of the night. N: Come to find out on the 3rd date, when we made sushi at his apartment, there it is Sweet Noshings... Across the street. What can I say, I fell in love with it all.
