Our Story

We first met during our high school senior year in 2011 during physics class. At first, we saw each other as a nuisance as we sat on each other’s seat next to our mutual friend. At some point in the year, both of us attended outings with mutual friends and found ourselves talking over the phone more often. One night, I dreamt of each other holding hands and cuddling with each other and since then, developed a crush over her soon after. I reached out to Amie and went on several dates for about four months. On the night of December 2nd, the day before her birthday, I basically proposed to Amie at her birthday dinner. I literally got down on one knee in front of all her friends and asked her to be my girlfriend. Amie took a while to respond but was happy to say yes. Fast forward to January 2022 on our trip to Hawaii, a destination that Amie wished for since the day we dated. I scheduled a private tour along Wailua Falls with a tour guide who is also a professional photographer. The idea was to propose behind the water fall in the Hawaiian jungle. To my dismay, the tour guide cancelled due to unsafe conditions. Four different failed attempts later and on our second to last day on our vacation, the most pivotal moment presented itself. On the last stop on our ATV tour, we both came out of the Hawaiian jungle and overlooked the ocean from the peak of a cliff top. We faced the ocean with our backs toward the tour guide who was taking several photos of us. In that moment the tour guide slid the ring into my hand, making sure that Amie wouldn't notice and counted to three as if taking a photo but instead was recording the most important moment of our lives. I kneeled once more and said, “I commit myself to you. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you. Amiera Medrano, will you marry me?” She covered her nose and mouth with her hands while crying, then I heard a “yes.” The rest is history. We have been together for ten years now and will pass the threshold in becoming husband and wife. We are excited to share the rest of our lives together and look forward to what matrimony has in store for us.
